Boggis, Bunce and Bean dig and dig and dig until there is no hill left for Mr. Fox and his family to live in. There is just a crater that the locals come an gaze at.
This week in Hargreaves class, we took turns to build a hill from sand and then due to the lack of any mechanic diggers (such as those used by the 3 farmers in the book) we used good old fashioned metal spoons to dig it up!
First we estimated how many spoonfuls of sand it would take to dig up the hill and then we dug. We recorded our findings as we went. We could either devise our own method to keep a tally or use one of two different tables to help us.
One very kind group were so worried about Mr. Fox, that when they had finished the task, they rebuilt his hill complete with a tree (stick) and foxholes.
Next door in Butterworth they were investigating the BFG, making dream jars and painting his portrait. They tried to discover who was the BFG of the class!
Along the corridor Potter class were designing and building chocolate factories and best of all they got to make chocolate crispy cakes.
Lots of exciting things are happening, I'm looking forward to seeing all the costumes on dress up day.
