The Selfish Giant

This Easter, Key stage 1 chose to perform the musical version of The Selfish Giant, as their production.

All the children worked extremely hard to learn the words to a variety of interesting songs and those in Year 2 acted as the characters and narrators.

The story tells of the selfish act of a giant and how he finds forgiveness through an act of love, ending in him joining others in Paradise.  A very fitting message for the Easter season. If you do not know the story and missed the production, you could try listening to it on storynory

Well done and thank you to Year 1 and 2. What a great performance and we all enjoyed watching you and listening to your beautiful singing!

World Book Day 2016

On World Book day, the children had a chance to spend the day at school dressed as their favourite book character.

The day saw a huge variety of characters covering traditional stories to very modern books.

Each class undertook their own activities on the day and the children were able to share their favourite book with their classmates.

At the end of the day every child was given a £1 book token to spend in a world book day retailer, to purchase either a special £1 book or to use in part payment towards a regular book.

We hope you enjoyed seeing all the wonderful and exciting costumes when you dropped off and collected your child. We certainly enjoyed spending the day in their company!
