Advent

Some of the children in KS1 have been learning about Advent. As part of this they have looked at different ways to countdown to Christmas. Advent calenders, Advent candles, an Advent wreath, countdown chalkboards and they have also looked at websites such as NORAD, where they have used the countdown activities.

Eloise tells us that Advent is a time of preparation. Grace says it is a time of getting ready. Archie says it is a time to celebrate Jesus being born and Olivia says we should do this because Jesus loves us. Alex reminded us that Jesus' birthday in on Christmas day and so we need to get ready to celebrate his arrival.

The children were keen to share the NORAD website with you because they are enjoying looking at the new games each day. Jack said it is really fun and Amy looks forward to doing it each day.
