You may remember that the Year One children, from Hargreaves and Butterworth classes, made a Fair-trade collage. This was entered in to the Ware competition and has been displayed in the town Library for the last few weeks.
Today we were delighted to find out that we had won the competition. Paul Watson came to school and presented each class with a prize. Butterworth received two hand puppet kits, Hargreaves a wall hanging and each children received a Kit Kat - which are fairtrade snacks.
Mr Watson told us that our collage had the largest number of different items on it. (We did not tell him we still had plenty left over that would not fit on the paper!). This was one of the reasons it won.

Mr Watson also told us that during the Ware Festival the Fairtrade group intend to take part in the parade. He has invited all the Year 1 children to join in on this day and take part in the parade carrying their collage. More details nearer the time. The theme for the carnival is Food Glorious Food.
Well done Year One.
