Potter, Butterworth and Hargreaves thoroughly enjoyed their circus day. Mr. Fantastiko started the day off with a circus assembly, the children loved seeing him ride his unicycle.
After this, each of the KS1 classes had a chance to take part in a circus skills workshop. They all had a chance to balance a feather, spin a plate, use a ribbon, pedal, roll the flower sticks, use the stilts, spin a poi and the most popular activity, the diablo.
The children impressed Mr. Fantastiko with their circus history knowledge. Well done year 1 and 2!
The last part of their session was choosing which skill to showcase in the performance for their parents; this proved a hard choice for most.
When asked for their thoughts on the day most said it was fantastic, funny, or the best day ever. They all felt they had learnt something new and enjoyed the chance to show their families what they had done. Lots want to try the skills again and a few want to work in a circus.
